01 / IS THIS YOU?
If you’re a man who’s spent years taking care of everyone else and is ready to finally let someone take care of you, join us for five pampered nights in San Miguel. You’ll come home rested, well fed and surrounded by new friends, so you can remember what it feels like to put yourself first.

IMAGINE THIS
It’s six o’clock.
The stone turns pink.
You’re on the villa rooftop, a cold margarita sweating in your hand. Below you, church bells start up, one after another, across the whole town.
The air smells of jasmine and somebody’s dinner. The Parroquia glows like it’s lit from inside. Someone you met two days ago says something that makes you laugh out loud.
Your phone is downstairs. Nobody needs anything from you. Dinner is booked, the bill is handled, and the only decision left is whether to have a second drink first.
Welcome to Pampered in San Miguel.
02 / WE SEE YOU
Does any of this
sound familiar?
“You’re always the one making the plans, booking the tables and checking everyone’s happy.”
This week, Nick handles every detail. You just show up hungry.
“You keep putting off the trip because nobody you know can commit, and going alone feels like a lot.”
Join a small, welcoming group of men who'll feel like old friends by night two. Roommate matching if you want it.
“Your idea of a break somehow turns into a to-do list: emails, errands, the house.”
Unhurried days with one beautiful thing each morning and nothing you have to do.
“You’re tired of being sized up, or feeling too old for the scene.”
Grounded company, real conversation, and room to be exactly who you are.
“You can’t remember the last time someone took care of you.”
A private massage, an open bar, and meals you never have to plan or pay for.
Sound like just what you need?

CASA VALENTINA · YOUR PRIVATE POOL03 / YOUR HOME FOR THE WEEK
Past the heavy doors,
the world gets quieter.
The moment those old wooden doors close behind you, you’ll feel the street noise fall away. Just five bedrooms, so it feels like a friend’s home, not a hotel.
You’ll wander out to the courtyard and find the pool waiting. Up on the roof, you’ll catch the best sunset seat in town.
Each morning you’ll wake to Mexican coffee and breakfast made to order. Then the day is yours: the pool, the galleries, or absolutely nothing at all.

04 / YOUR DAYS TOGETHER
Six days.
No ordinary moments.
One beautiful thing each morning. Plenty of room to simply be.

THU, SEP 30
Arrive. Exhale. You’re here.
We collect you from Querétaro or León airports. Drop your bags, find the pool, and let the week begin at its own pace. At sunset, we meet on the roof for a welcome toast. No awkward icebreakers. Just a cold drink and good company.
Hecho en México · a colonial courtyard

FRI, OCT 1
A little wine. A lot of time.
A guided tour and tasting at Viñedo Dos Búhos, followed by a long harvest-season lunch among the vines. Back in town, an unhurried afternoon belongs to the pool, a massage, or absolutely nothing.
Cent’Anni · a rooftop facing the Parroquia

SAT, OCT 2
From the market to your table.
Shop the market with Charlie, then turn beautiful local ingredients into a Mexican feast in a private kitchen. Lunch is whatever you made. Afterwards, a siesta—because you’re on vacation.
Moxi at Hotel Matilda · Mexican fine dining

SUN, OCT 3
What if life looked like this?
A slow brunch at the villa, then an intimate salon with friends who moved here—people the town drew in until they stayed. Artists, retirees and dreamers share how they made the leap and what daily life really looks like. Ask them anything—or simply listen.
La Parada · Peruvian ceviche and pisco sours

MON, OCT 4
Find something to take home.
Wander Fábrica La Aurora, the old textile mill now home to galleries, design studios and antiques, with Nick’s map of favorites. Explore the boutiques of the centro. At sunset, we climb to Luna Rooftop at the Rosewood.
1826 at the Rosewood · our farewell dinner

TUE, OCT 5
Until next time, not goodbye.
One last breakfast together, long goodbyes, and morning transfers to the airport. Leave with a little more ease, a few new friends, and the reminder that your own desires deserve room.
Breakfast together · before your journey home
The rhythm is intentional. The details may evolve. Nick will share the final itinerary before departure.
Ready for a week like this?
Save your place05 / NOURISHMENT, NOT JUST MEALS
A full table.
An even fuller heart.
Warm tortillas and rich Mexican coffee. Produce chosen with Charlie in the market. A meal made with your own hands, shared with new friends.
Evenings bring San Miguel’s finest dinner tables: colonial courtyards, rooftop views, Peruvian ceviche and pisco sours. And a Rosewood farewell worth lingering over.
All meals. Open bar. Dinner drinks. Gratuities.
The pleasure is yours. The details are ours.

CHEF CHARLES VOLLMAR · YOUR TEACHER FOR THE DAY

06 / THE COOKING CLASS
You made that.
And you will again at home.
Your chef for the day is Charles Vollmar, and he teaches the way a good friend does—patiently, generously, and with a glass of wine within reach.
Together you’ll shop the market the way locals do, learning what to look for, what to ask for, and what to grab while it’s in season. Back in a private kitchen, Charlie walks you through everything, from preparing and shopping tips to cooking and, finally, plating it all up.
His signature is a Spanish seafood paella—saffron rice over a slow-built sofrito, chorizo rendering its color into the pan, mussels and shrimp tucked in at just the right moment. It’s the kind of dish you never thought you could make yourself, until you’re the one making it.
Then everyone sits down to the full meal you created together, with new friends around the table.
- 01Shop with a chef
- 02Cook together
- 03Plate it up
- 04Feast on your work
You’ll leave with every recipe in hand.
The experience—and the dinner—stay with you too.
07 / YOUR HOUR WITH GEORGE
Nothing to do.
Just let go.
For one full hour, nobody needs anything from you. No plans to make, no conversation to keep up. Just a private massage and time to settle into being looked after.
Meet George—Jorge Carbajal, a massage practitioner based in San Miguel de Allende. He brings eight years of experience working with everyone from high-performance athletes to people ready for a break from everyday stress.
His specialties include Swedish, deep-tissue and sports massage, with a personalized, client-centered approach. Tell him where you’re carrying tension and what feels comfortable. The hour is about you, not a routine you have to fit into.
After a morning on the cobblestones or an afternoon among the vines, it’s a beautiful way to pause. Let your shoulders drop. Let the rest of the day wait.
One 60-minute private massage with George.
Included for every guest, scheduled during your week.

Your hour is already included.
Let yourself be pampered08 / WHAT YOU’LL CARRY HOME
You’ll leave changed,
not just rested.
- 01Rested, really rested
Not the shallow rest of a weekend off—the deep kind. Five nights of unhurried mornings, poolside afternoons and a private massage work loose the kind of tired that sleep alone never fixed. You’ll remember what it feels like to wake up with nothing to prove.
- 02New friends who get it
Something happens when a group of men share long dinners and open-bar sunsets with nowhere to be. The small talk falls away fast. You’ll leave with men you’ll still be texting long after the flight home—and possibly plans to do this all again together.
- 03Permission to put yourself first
For one week, every meal, every outing and every detail is handled for you. Being cared for this completely has a way of resetting what you believe you deserve. You’ll come home with your own pleasure back on the calendar—where it belongs.
- 04A taste of another life
Over brunch you’ll sit with friends who visited San Miguel and never left. Hear how they made the leap, what it really costs and what daily life actually looks like. Whether or not you ever follow, you’ll leave with a seed planted—and their honest answers to your questions.
- 05Something beautiful to take home
Not airport souvenirs. A piece of art from a Fábrica La Aurora gallery, hand-painted ceramics, textiles from the makers you met in person—something that catches your eye at home years from now and puts you right back on that rooftop at sunset.
CASA VALENTINA · THE ROOFTOP TERRACE09 / A FEW LITTLE EXTRAS
The pampering starts
before you fly.
A personal welcome call with Nick. Ask anything, share what you need, and get his packing tips and favorite spots.
A welcome gift waiting in your room when you arrive.
Optional Alborada morning. If you’re up for it, watch the pre-dawn fireworks in the Jardín, with hot chocolate on us.
10 / WHY SAN MIGUEL
San Miguel has a way
of bringing you back to yourself.
It’s a town that rewards slowing down: cobblestone lanes, bougainvillea over every wall, and a long tradition of welcoming artists and dreamers. It’s also a town where men traveling together are simply welcomed everywhere.
Late September is harvest season in the vineyards, with green hills, warm days and cool evenings.
The local legend says San Miguel is built on a bed of pink quartz, and that the stone gives the town its loving, healing feeling. You'll feel it the moment you arrive—people are drawn here almost helplessly, some so completely that they never leave. Over brunch, we'll sit with a few of them and hear what happened after they said yes.
SAN MIGUEL · THE VIEW FROM CASA VALENTINA
YOUR HOST. YOUR INSIDER.
YOUR FRIEND IN MEXICO.
11 / MEET NICK VANNELLO
“Pull up a chair.
You’re in good hands.”
I’ve organized group travel for over forty years, with the last seven dedicated to men looking for real camaraderie. Mexico changed my life. San Miguel became home.
I call myself a soft retreat leader. You won’t find me leading awkward icebreakers or lecturing on architectural dates. I’d rather introduce you to the baker who made your morning pastry.
I believe the best moments happen naturally—floating under the stars with a drink, sharing a long dinner, or finding that someone else understands your path.

A FEW FINAL DETAILS
Wondering
about something?
A little clarity makes it easier to say yes.
I’m coming on my own. Will I fit in?
Absolutely. This is a small group of men who value good food, easy company and the freedom to be themselves. We can match you with a roommate, or you can choose a private room while available. Connection happens over shared meals, not forced icebreakers.
How active is this week?
Gently. Expect cobblestones, some stairs and market walks—not rugged hikes or tests of stamina. San Miguel sits at 6,135 ft. Take the first day slowly, stay hydrated and let Nick know about any mobility concerns before booking.
What exactly is included?
Five nights, all meals, an open bar, dinner drinks, group outings, airport transfers, a one-hour private massage, cooking class, welcome gift and staff gratuities. Airfare, required travel insurance, shopping and optional activities outside the group schedule are not included.
Will there be workshops or sharing circles?
No. Nick calls himself a soft retreat leader. There are no staged therapy circles, required emotional breakthroughs or homework. Enjoy genuine conversation when you feel like it—and quiet when you don’t.
How do I get to San Miguel?
Fly into Querétaro (QRO, about an hour away) or León/Bajío (BJX, about an hour and a half). Shared airport transfers on arrival and departure days are included. Nick helps coordinate the details before you travel.
What are the rooms and payment options?
Shared occupancy is $2,997 per person. A private room is $4,997 per person, subject to availability. A $500 deposit secures your place, with the remaining balance due 90 days before arrival. Booking opens through YouLi once the reservation link is available.
What should I pack?
Comfortable shoes for cobblestones, swimwear and a light layer for cool evenings. Late September can bring short afternoon showers. Alborada festivities may be audible before dawn; bring earplugs if you prefer to sleep through them.
